Any idea why my washing machine is eating the clothes? It doesn't happen all the time. Just now and then. Today it's left a big hole in a jumper and ripped a pair of my boxers to shreds. The rest of the clothes are okay.

Check for damage to the inner drum (carefully!).

If not check for damage to the door seal at the front edge of the inner drum, if there is a larger than normal gap things will get caught in the gap.
