The hoops we had to jump through to get shotgun licences and to keep them at home, in the days when ex-OH and I did clay pigeon shooting, were quite reassuring, IMO.
Yes, my husband belonged to a gun club and had to give up some really beautiful guns when the new laws came in. It was such a shame because all he shot at were targets. He didn't even go hunting and I was the one who killed the flies in our house. There seemed no point in taking away guns from innocent people. And what will happen if there should be another world war (gods forbid) the Government will be looking round for people who can use guns and only the villains will be there.
