I can only speak from experience of them, illegal occupation of land, flytipping, thefts of plant materials, thefts from shops, intimidation of locals.... I suppose they can't all be on the make though.

This programme is put on purely .for entertainment and is greatly
exagerated. the film makers only want the really way out residents, according to Essex radio most gypsies are not too happy with how they are being portrayed.

I too wondered where the mother was, when the bride to be was cleaning the caravan, she said that if she didn't feel well she could ask to be excused and the mother would do it.... but then she said "it won't work when I'm married, I'll still have to do it anyway". Quite a hard (and boring) lifestyle, IMO.

You obviously haven`t been to Kempton Park Market on a thursday then pink. There are a lot of Irish gypsies who live not 500m from me and they are all down there on a thursday and they look exactly like the ones in the TV programme. (I`m not necessarily complaining. They are fascinating to look at)

I think, Pinki that most gypsies in the UK are from Ireland these days. I remember the old English gypsies coming to my gran`s house in Devon when I was a kid. They were selling clothes pegs. My gran was superstitious and thought it would be bad luck to refuse them. She gave them a few shillings and everyone was happy.
I find the Irish ones at Kempton fascinating. I have been into photography for a long time and I would love to take their photos. They probably wouldn `t let me though. They are illiterate. Kind of rough. Stunning to look at. Dyed black hair, gold hoop earrings, fake tan, really short skirts and killer heels.

Why wasn't the obvious, burning question asked that everyone want's to know? Where does all the money come from to pay for the weddings, cars, caravans etc? There is obviously a hell of a lot being left out of this series that they don't want us to know about.
