I would not suggest removing the keys as they can be fiddly to put back.
I would suggest turning it upside down to shake out crumbs, and also blowing out any dirt or crumbs with a hair dryer, or sucking them out with a vacuum cleaner.
I have seen keyboard cleaners in shops like PC world, but have no idea if they are any good or not.
Couple of hints.
NEVER eat or drink above your laptop. I know this from bitter experience when I was eating a bowl of corn flakes with milk while working on my laptop.
I knocked the bowl and all the milk went inside the laptop, it never worked properly again.
Also, consider a separate keyboard. You can buy a USB keyboard, plug it into the laptop, and use that.
Then if the keyboard breaks, or you spill drink on it, you can go out and buy a new keyboard for 10 rather than a new laptop for 500
