Fish behaviour

I set up a new tank early Jan 2011..got Sunset Wag Platies end of Jan..the males seem to be losing colour, mainly front half of body..any reason why, please. also have 5 neon tetra & 6 Harlequin.

Could it be the water quality or temp? Could you get a water test done nearby?
