without . . . just with your feet and arms/ hands on the floor.

Kind of like holding a pressup position still.
Eric Sykes and Tommy Cooper can hold it for quite a while!
Three minutes was good going, Mols !

I can do longer on my hands with arms straight than with elbows on the floor. Probably can do about 5 mins at a push with straight arms. Less than 2 minutes the elbow way!

I did it with all of my forearm on the floor, that way you have to use your stomach muscles more to keep them off of the floor and it's them I'm trying to tone.
Lol Molls, when I saw 'the Plank' I thought it was going to be a post about 'walking the plank'!

I'm a nice sailor not a pirate.
I don't understand the position, do me a link. My arms are longer than my legs so I find it hard to touch my toes anyway.
I did 3 mins when my core strength was much better, prob get the shakes after as minute at the moment.
Over 2 mins is generally accepted as "very good".
^^ no, I meant the other way round LOL, my legs are longer than my arms.

Really jd? that's why auntie accused me of cheating when i said i used to be able to do 3 mins. But when I started shaking I used to try and get up to the next whole minute (you can't see the seconds on my alarm clock so it's hard to tell how long that'll be).
Question Author
JD but is over 2 mins good if you're with feet nd hands or feet and forearms?
I've found my own pic. Beyond my dreams at the moment.
The forearm/elbow on the deck method (the proper way) is what I mean.
