when talking about sizes and shapes of properties, what does 'devon 4' mean?

I live in Devon and I have never heard of "Devon Four" its a new one on me.

Spent many a happy holiday(including honeymoon 37 years ago!)in Bideford area. Went back with our children and grandchildren(after nearly 20 years gap) last year, when we hired a cottage at Horns Cross. Fantastic weather and still as beautiful as we remembered - with the added bonus of new roads and bridges! The old A 361 from Taunton to Barnstable, after 6 or 7 hours on the road from deepest Essex, was a killer The 'new' Barnstaple and Bideford bypasses - heaven! Sorry - reminiscing!!
