following on from the virus attack
3 Answers
as i said, managed to get it all going again [Question994424] but then again couldn't get onto the internet, not with IE, firefox et al. Thought it was the line or my ISP's fault, they checked it all over and everything was OK their end. Had to do a system restore, to earlier in the week when all was hunky dory. The same has happened this morning, a restore to an earlier date.
Is there a reliable "fix-it" site that anyone knows of? Thanks

My daughter had a serious attack a year or so back and it was so bad (and had changed so many of the Windows settings) that I finished up doing a full Windows reinstall.
You may find your "hosts" file has been changed, and that will affect your ability to get to the network. The hosts file can be updated to "point" you to the sites THEY want you to go to.
See if you can find your "hosts" file (no extension) and see what is listed in there.
