And why would they?

From the day an MP is elected, they receive free First Class return rail travel from their constituency to London.

So from Day One, they are alienated from the people they represent by means of an ability to travel in comfort without cost - something delined to 99% of the people they represent.

And that's just Day One - as the feature shows - the entitlements simply grow and grow from there.

I work for BT Openreach as a PA to a Senior Manager. I travel from my home in Stoke,to Milton Keynes, once a month where my boss collects me, and we drive an hour to his office in Luton for a meeting with his team of managers. He then drives me back to the station.

In order to reduce travel costs - i take the London Midland train each way, which stops nine times each way, and I leave my home at 06:00, and return about 17:00.

I have no problem with the need to reduce costs where possible working for a private company, even one as large as BT - but it shows their approach to expenses, as opposed to the MP's who are spending tax-payers' money.
