can anyone tell me what song the lyrics "oh misery, shame and scandal in the family" are from.  the guy sounded likes Suggs, but it's not a song i recognise.  is it new?

I don't know the name of the song but I know it's by Madness and it's quite recent.

I think you'll find it's a remake of a song called Shame and Scandal that was certainly recorded by Lance Percival in 1965, got to No 37. He may well have written it as well. It's a sort of cod calypso based on a very old joke.

Lance Percival brought out a record in the sixties, a calypso called 'Shame and Scandal on the Family', wouldn't be that one would it?.
