referencing in an essay-

in my ref list at the back of my essay
would i list the exact same ref twice?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I would just put it once so, e.g. in text "Children's social development is important" (DCSF, 2008) then "Children need to play to learn" (DCSF, 2008)

Theres no point putting it twice unless there's page numbers which there isn't on web pages

When i was doing references for my biology coursework I put numbers next to the things I'd sourced. In the bibliography, I put the number then the page on the website/ book and author and date. If there was one thing i got two bits of info from then i just put the number twice in the text and once in the bibliography.
