Sometimes when trawling to see if I can help with any of the unanswered questions (very rare!) I see they were posed in 2009. Should the sites not be cleared after a few months? No doubt you have been asked before about this. Best wishes.

No....It's a question and answer site. If someone comes looking for an answer it could be in the archives...

It's an answerbank, the idea being that the answers accumulate over time and they collectively become a source for reference.

Of course, nobody ever actually uses the search feature to see if their questions has been answered previously.
