Same here. Maundy Thursday goes unnoticed. The school holidays have already started so loads of kids hanging around bored already.
Hardly anyone has even heard of Maundy Thursday up here.

Our kids have been on hols and are now back.

When I lived in England, they wouldn't believe me that We did not have Good Friday, Easter Monday or August Bank holiday Monday off.
its so quiet where i live you dont know if the kids are on holiday or not,i think the parents dont stand any nonsense from the kids here, they are all very kind and polite
We live very near to a secondary school, so the kids round here can be noisy at times, but nothing worse than that...except that it's not a good idea to go to the shops at lunchtime, especially the baker's...queued out with kids.

They all queueing for healthy wholemeal rolls filled with salad? Or for sausage rolls filled with grease?
When I first lived in Scotland in the early 1970s, I found it very hard that the Scots worked on Boxing Day but had New Year's Day off - in England at that time, we had two days for Christmas and Boxing Days, but worked on NY Day. All different now, of course!
