Thank You All. I'm not really sure of the size, but life like as possible, so I guess not too small, just enough to feel how the trunk grows after the branches have erm branched off...at the moment, I cannot 'see' trees in my mind, hence this desperate question! It's okay Emeritus, I can access links now, but Thanks for your tinyurl, but I'll look at both even though they're the same, cos at the moment the AB site is a bit unstable...it keeps moving about!...if that makes any sense!

Tri, I had even thought about trying to find a local tree surgeon to see if I could go with him/her up a tree...smile...but I guess ye olde Health and Safety would not permit that...though your suggestion about getting hold of a goodish part of a tree is a good idea - the leaves aren't a concern, it's the tree and its wending and winding ways.
Yes Dotty. there are trees here and though I've had them described to me, it would be easier if I could feel them and actually feel how they branch off and carry on at the same time...if that makes sense. There was or is a smallish oak tree that I was able to get to grips with recently and the trunk went about nearly six feet high and then forked into two; and on and on, so that was quite useful, but was only one kind of tree!...hecky thump, sometimes I dunner know why I bother, eh?
