yet I felt so sorry for the young man who habitually self armed himself, he lived on the streets, no family and was scarred all over due to cutting himself, the ones I couldn't get to grips with are the ones who were surprised at the length of the sentences they received, one guy was choked he got 15 yrs for driving the van for drug dealers? surely if they get caught, then they shouldn't be shocked at the punishment

Sara do you remember the other programme that was on last year about prison life too, there was a prison officer who said that some smuggle in blackberry phones and chargers. HOLY CRAP
I thought it sad that there seemed nothing for them to do. These guys are no angels but they could find some sort of fulfilment in work which might help them get back to some normality when they finally do get out. I'd rather break rocks than be caged up all day. Re. "I got 15 years for driving a van", he could be putting a gloss on his involvement maybe .
15 years for driving a van, not likely!! I didn't see the programme but I would say there was a lot more to his involvement than just driving a van, probably with a load of history as well.

Of course he was more involved....I think because he was just 'driving a van' and not actually dealing he thought his crime wasn't as great. he just put it in very simplistic terms...He did get 15 years for driving a van...
hmmm, I guess Bin Laden was only running a club then ;o)
