There is no room in Sport for such vile behaviour, just what makes such deep set hatred against another's religion?
I refer to the Celtic manager having nail bombs sent to him through the post and then last night , a Hearts supporter lunging at him, this nutter could have had a kinfe in his hand!

Was there any kind of religious apartheid in employment in Glasgow? In Belfast the shipyards were almost exclusively Protestant

that still happens
Bigotry is indeed rife in the west of Scotland, but let`s not pretend that it doesn`t exist elsewhere in the country, including Edinburgh. Have a look on the fans forums. Hearts were always regarded as a protestant team and Hibernian as catholic. Can you explain why a Hearts supporter would find the need to take a union flag or a red hand of Ulster to a Celtic game.
I`ve gone to games in Scotland since the fifties and bigotry is as bad now as I ever remember it .
Strathclyde police are warning bars not to show both the celtic and Rangers games tommorow incase it incites trouble, and I was in Edinburgh on Easter Sunday some of the bars in Rose Street were not showing the old firm game for the same reason. I live 30 odd miles from Glasgow but the streets will not be safe on Sunday if the results do not go a certain way, and it`s not unusual for the police to close bars incase of trouble.
The sooner the Old Firm begger off to whatever league want to take a chance on them the better, their respective grounds should be flattened and all religous parades banned.
Regards employment I think Glasgow City Council had a bit of a reputation.

It is just the same as a person born in Glasgow taking the irish flag to a Hearts game.

Obviously to incite religious bigotry
Should the Union flag be banned Bobbisox.
Question Author
banned?
it has probably lost it's use now with Scotland wanting Independence and Wales having theirs, but they are still under the Union flag because the Queen is their figurehead which is why the flag still shows on part of the Australian , Canadian and NZ flag
Bobbisox there would still be trouble if all flags were banned. Most of the trouble happens away from the grounds these days.

so I understand , I also think the players and Managers should not be allowed to make signs to the crowds that incites trouble, I refer to Gaza when he played for Rangers?
