Bigotry is indeed rife in the west of Scotland, but let`s not pretend that it doesn`t exist elsewhere in the country, including Edinburgh. Have a look on the fans forums. Hearts were always regarded as a protestant team and Hibernian as catholic. Can you explain why a Hearts supporter would find the need to take a union flag or a red hand of Ulster to a Celtic game.
I`ve gone to games in Scotland since the fifties and bigotry is as bad now as I ever remember it .
Strathclyde police are warning bars not to show both the celtic and Rangers games tommorow incase it incites trouble, and I was in Edinburgh on Easter Sunday some of the bars in Rose Street were not showing the old firm game for the same reason. I live 30 odd miles from Glasgow but the streets will not be safe on Sunday if the results do not go a certain way, and it`s not unusual for the police to close bars incase of trouble.
The sooner the Old Firm begger off to whatever league want to take a chance on them the better, their respective grounds should be flattened and all religous parades banned.
Regards employment I think Glasgow City Council had a bit of a reputation.
