What's the worst job you've ever had?

Mine was one night 10-6 setting up a market stall. I did'nt even wait to get the �10 i was offered, i just went home and wondered where my life was going.

Not really a 'job' so much as part of a job.

My parents owned a grocery store and they used to boil hams in milk overnight. Afterwards, the ham boiler had to be cleaned out by yours truly. Imagine the smell of milk that has been boiled for eight hours, then triple it .... now double that .... you're still not even close!

I once worked in a hotel for the elderly. Some of the residents were incontinent and cleaning up after them was very unpleasant. One woman used to regularly poo in the bath - urg!

One day in the hot kitchens of Bardills.

I worked from 8am to 7pm, on my feet all day, was not allowed a break, and was on �2.10 an hour! I got paid cash at the end of the day.

Working in an Odeon cinema. I have never worked with so many freaks in my life. I lasted a week.

A holiday job working in a market garden, sideshooting thousands of tomato plants in greenhouses.  Every night I came home with my face, hands and clothes stained bright yellow and stinking of that peculiar tomato smell  you can never quite get rid of from your skin, no matter how hard you scrub.  After 6 weeks I never wanted to see a tomato plant again.  (Until I started growing my own, when I suddenly adopted an entirely different perspective).

Working in a fruit and veg shop. The owners had just taken it over, from running a care home. They knew NOTHING about how to run it. When the carrots got low, they made me chuck another bag on top, again and again, so you ended up with rotting "carrot snot" at the bottom of the pile. They made me put all the damaged and rotten fruit out on display cos they were SO tight. They had their 2 teenage sons working for them- and since they both smoked and I didn't, they would constantly have fag breaks, leaving me on my own to run the shop.

Finally they got a new computerised till, which they were too thick to understand. I once helped the wife work it out and put in a few transactions for her. They thought that because I didn;t sign in as myself, that I was stealing from them. The till was �40 or �50 down every day. I got blamed, and was sacked!!! I worked my a*** off for them, got treated like rubbish and was then sacked. ABYSMAL job- �3 an hour.

A flatmate of mine worked 3am til 9am gutting fish while we were at Uni. Put all my rotten jobs in the shade.

Used to work in a chinese takeaway. Would get off the bus from college and go straight to work for a 7 hour shift (until midnight). Wouldn't get a break. Used to wake up on saturday and think 'oh god, only 6 days then I'm back at work again'. I have no idea why I stuck it out as long as I did!
