How to do what exactly? Install the program? (It should be on there by default on newer versions of Windows)

To configure it to download and be able to send your emails?
Do you have an existing email account that you want to access with Outlook Express (OE) ? A hotmail one? Another?

Hi Stevie21.  I don't know what to put in the following:

incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP server )

Outgoing mail (SMPT) server

Hope that you can understand this!!

Hi bunnykinz, I had a similar problem, so I called my internet service provider (wanadoo in my case) and they gave me all the info I needed. Because I was on broadband I was able to speak to someone at customer services as I filled all the relevant boxs. Hope this helps.
Sadly, that jargon does make sense to me :(
Which email account are you trying to access? Is it one that you already have and use (currently via a webpage) ?
Is it a new account that you want to set up?

Normally, you'll be trying to access something like a hotmail account or an email address provided by your ISP. I need to know exactly which one (but remember that AB won't allow you to put the email address itself on here).
Don't tell me the username, just the AT "something.com" part.
Bunnykinz: All of the information you want should be available on the website of your ISP (or whoever else is providing your e-mail). If you can't find it, just tell us who you're using for your e-mail and we'll see what we can do!

Flippin heck boys, this is a bit complicated for a bunny!! ;) but here goes..... I used to use outlook express all the time and had an account set up ntlworld.com but then my computer was full of viruses so everything got wiped off so we had to start from fresh. ntlworld mail was a load of rubbish so I've set up a hotmail.com account as well. I want to send video emails!!! so I click send and the outlook express mail box opens but won't/can't send because I need an account :/ ?

You are all so kind, thanks to you all bunny xx

Hotmail?
To the best of my knowledge, Hotmail doesn't provide POP3 services. (It's ages since I used it - I can't stand it - but I've just checked their website and nothing much seems to have changed).

This means that you can only access your mail services through your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or whatever) and not through Outlook Express! Go to Hotmail's home page:
http://login.passport.net/uilogin.srf?lc=1033&id=2
Then sign into your account. Then follow the on-screen instructions for writing mail & adding attachments.

You can access your hotmail account via OE. I think the only disclaimer is that it has to be a hotmail account that you've had for a while, though I may be wrong.
I can access my Hotmail account via IE.

Click Tools > Accounts and on the new window that appears click on
Add > Mail

Enter your name, and then on the next screen enter your hotmail address. OE should detect that this is a hotmail account and not ask you for too much info.
Enter that your incoming mail server is "HTTP", in the next drop down list put "Hotmail" and on the next screen put in your email address and password.

Let me know if you're still stuck.
