Hi

My mother in law has asked myself and my partner to look after her badly behaved 14 year old son while she goes on holiday for 3 days.

We both work, my partner full time. I have a toddler and I'm tired from being 23 weeks pregnant. I also cook clean and all he usual stuff.

There would be nowhere for him to sleep apart from the sofa, which I hate as I've already paid 30 for a new zip on the cushion as he broke it last time. He's cheeky and I can't be bothered if I'm honest.

I think it's cheeky to ask. Do you??

I don't take it personal at all as we all have opinions. Plus I know it's none of my business how he turns out. If it was a case of sorting out everyones broken children, there'd be a queue at the door lol.

Thanks again x
Let us know how you get on, lyla
i would take a queue at the door anytime, they all deserve a chance. x x
Despite other posters' feelings, however admirable, about taking needy children 'under the wing', not everyone is able to do so. Lyla shouldn't be obliged to her MIL, nor be made to feel guilty about refusing this request. No reasons, just keep repeating 'I'm sorry, but it's just not possible right now'. And expect her husband to back her to the hilt. By which I don't mean some half-hearted, muttered 'I-dunno-Lyla's-a-bit-funny-at-the-moment', but a wholehearted, unconditional support of his partner.
