Around town earlier, I saw a bunch of girls (as the schools are off) and one of them - she could not have been above 11 years old - wore a silver necklace with the word 'FLIRT' dangling from it....I thought it quite wrong, I certainly wouldn't let my daughter walk around with that 'label'.

Yes, too sexually suggestive for someone so young.
while it is possible to get playboy bunny items for under fives what chance do the little ones have.... I caught one of the programmes in the stop pimping our kids series and felt it should be shown more widely

I also think it is quite sad that young girls feel the need to wear this sort of clothing and jewellery that speaks of sexual undertones way before they have even began to mature themselves...the society we live in now, also peer pressure doesn't help I'm sure.
Sad, isn't it.
Nah, I just think it's a bit plebby - I would hazard a guess that the girl would probably think "ewww!" if it was suggested that her pendant indicated anything sexual.
actually the meaning behind the word will have probably been lost on her, though a minority of pre-teens may seem "worldly" the majorit of them are not and like a lot of girls her age she probably liked the design and the colour. the real people to blame are the manufacturers who market this sort of stuff specifically at pre-teens
