400 Mile Trek by Cat

After reading this story there is hope for boxtops and her missing Cat.
All the way from Cornwall to Anglesey but it has a happy ending after 4 months on the road !

Yes it is marval, it's a good job the Cat had ID; just goes to show how important it is to tag or chip your Pets.

Looking at the two lazy idiots hanging off the back of my sofa, sunning themselves and within easy reach of the food bowls I find it amazing that this little cat managed to travel so far from home. But we never really know what they get up to when we are not there.

I hope Boxtop gets good news soon - Rover is going to be furious at her for losing him. He is wandering around looking for a lost human.

I wish all people would tag/microchip their pets, it would make reuniting with their humans much easier and happier.

chipping them only helps if they are found by someone who will get them checked for chips. a cat that just wanders off and adopts new ownes doesnt get checked.

We need to inject them with transponders that can be picked up by satellite - we could do it to kiddies and old folk that are prone to wander and are perhaps senile.

My two are indoor cats but are microchipped - I envisage losing them en-route to the vet.

my 2 are house cats but chipped (well they have to be as Mr CRX makes pet ID chips lol) but when a builder let one of them out last year it still took days to find her.

Yes it was Welshyorkie, it was on other News Pages as well.
Must have hitched a ride on a Truck, Train or Bus. Should be charged for Fare dodging !! :-))

Great ending. Don't like the bit where the cat got it's 'leg embedded in it's collar'. Hate cats with collars on!!

My old tom cat used to go missing for a few days when there was a lady cat in the area, there were times when he would come home and someone had loosened his collar so that it could get caught up on branches, I never found out who had done it.
Hope boxy's cat finds his way home.

Aw people - this is so nice of you to keep sending good wishes for Rover. No sign at all for three weeks, despite all the flyers and posters. We are putting an ad in the local paper next week, we really hope he's staying at another-cat house. The vet was asking after him today - it is hard to say that although we miss him a lot and we are so concerned for his welfare, our two remaining cats don't miss him at all. We realise (much more than we did when he was here ) that he is quite a dominant fellow - the other two have really come out of their shells now they are not being chased around. Life is very quiet now with nobody to play with, the others have started playing with us instead!

PS - I do recognise the problem with that cat's collar. When we had the magnetic catflaps, No1 Son had a habit of coming in with one leg through his collar, like a bandolier. None of them wear collars now, they are much too dangerous.
