I love milk and on it's own I can drink it by the gallon without any problem at all but in tea I can only take the smallest dash and in coffee I can't have any at all otherwise I become very nauseous. I had wondered if it was something to do with being made into a hot drink but have absolutely no problem with hot chocolate and the like............. Anyone got any ideas?
You obviously don't have a lactose intolerance. Why not try having soya milk in your tea and coffee? I found that milk made me feel nauseous in coffee, so I swapped to soy milk and have had no problems ever since. I also use honey instead of sugar or saccharine, but that is just personal taste.
Milk doesn't..... what I suspect is at some point you made your tea or coffee with soured milk that made you sick and now you have a learned reaction to it that is nothing to do with the milk itself. Try skimmed milk in tiny quantities and build back up gradually...but there's no harm or oddnessin having your tea and coffee black if it is what you prefer
Although it doesn't make me nauseous, I don't take milk in coffee and, like you, very little in tea, even though I love it to drink. It's just how I prefer it and for no other reason, and as Rowanwitch says, if you like the way you drink tea and coffee, then don't worry about it.
