if by chance there are any mechanics or engineers,
i am taking the rear end wheel bearing off a bmw 318is, and the wheel bearing seems to be seized, without waiting for monday to use a press, whats the best way to do it, is there a trick to it, any help would be appreciated

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Slacken off the Handbrake adjuster, you will find the adjust esters under the Handbrake shroud, be careful when you lift this off as the body is made of plastic. Make sure the car is in 1st / reverse, chock the front wheels, jack up the side you are doing & place the road wheel under the body near the jacking point. there is a Torx bolt on the hub, spray it with WD40, crack it with a hammer before removal, the hub should come off with ease as soon as you have slackened off the adjuster.
Put the hub into the vice facing down wards & spray in some WD40, , get a good socket the same size as the hub, leave the WD for 5 mins, smack the socket this should knock out the hub, you may need several attempts. put some rags etc on the floor or get someone to hold it whilst you are smacking the Socket.
