I used it on a burn scar with no result :(
I've never tried the patches, but I used Bio Oil itself on a nasty tear on my arm a couple of years ago. The scar is still there but it's now flush with the skin and only noticeable if you look for it.
If the scar is more than one month old, then forget using any types of oils as they are ineffective. No scientific studies that i have seen, convince me otherwise.

If the scar is less than a month, the hydrocortisone cream MIGHT help.

Thanks for the answers . Sqad - I was going to use them on my foot to see if they would help with the scarring after my surgery, do you think they wouldnt make a difference ? thanks
have a look here too, jasmin - mixed, but someone recommends the Elastoplast scar reduction patches too (which might be less expensive) http://forums.moneysa...owthread.php?t=106626

Thanks Boxtops grateful for that link. Jasmin
jasmin it is worth a try...up to you which you use.
I used bio-oil on stretch marks across my hips which seemed to work nicely but after i stopped using it they came back just as they were unfortunately don't know if it would be the same as on a scar though i hope not as i am now using it on my belly button for a small scar!
I used bio oil for years on a facial scar - it didn't make any difference although it smells good and my skin felt moisturised afterwards! :)
