Why is it that homophobic attacks only force some to raise questions when the perpetrators are Muslims?

Strange, isn't it?

Perhaps it's because unless it's a murder, such as Ian Baynham - attacks are rarely reported in the national press.in fact, you'd almost believe that the only thing the gays community are interested in doing is "destroying the traditional family unit" (care of Melanie Phillips in the Daily Mail).

Is this a case of "Who do we hate most - gays or Muslims" and Muslims losing out?

Will be interesting to see how these new supporters of the gay cause will react when the next 'gay adoption' story crops up!

I wouldn't mind an attack on either number 4 or number 7 in SP1814's list.

Brendan - problem is, some who do not accept homosexuality (which in itself is a weird concept, up there with not accepting the existence of the colour green, watermelons or balsa wood) very rarely seem to be able to articulate what they mean.

What exactly are they saying? I disapprove if homosexuality and therefore homosexuals. Are they able to maintain their personal beliefs but treat gays and lesbians as equals?

Several recent cases have proved otherwise.

I still would like, however, an explanation of 'not accepting homosexuality". It's just an odd concept. You may or may not agree with the government's policy of (say) foreign aid funding to Pakistan, because this is an issue which has valid arguments on both sides,

But how can someone not 'accept' homosexuality?
Even Francis Maud once asked why people disapproved of homosexuality.
He said "They may as well disapprove of rain."

Wild exaggerations once again.

sp. Why do you talk around the houses with watermelons and foreign aid - these are not related to the issue. If a person cannot accept homosexual relationships only the "social family" that is their choice. Not everybody can be brainwashed into accepting everything as "natural" I have my own personal views on quite a few contentional subjects as I think you have - each to their own is my motto.

Good point, why there are even some on here you will not even accept Daily Mail readers.
AOG, really, i would never have known that. Don't you think it ironic that those who hate the DM are in themselves intolerant. Because we all have a viewpoint, what paper to peruse, then why can't they respect mine, if i do theirs.
Getting back to the question, perhaps its because these attacks are on the increase, and though i am not a religious expert, isn't homosexuality forbidden in the Islamic Faith. We have seen the likes of Abu Hamza, Anjem Choudary spouting their views on national TV, and shouldn't we be challenging their views of homosexuality, and indeed anyone.
Em. Respecting a viewpoint goes across the board not just the newspaper you choose to read. I am not a supporter of Mr Choudary, but in the same vein they will challenge your views through eternity - two sides of a coin.
' some on here you will not even'

'some on here who will not even'
personally if i never heard about him ever again that would be fine, his views are anathema to me, he has extreme views, and has clearly stated to anyone who will listen, on tv, radio, and in newspapers, that Britain will one day be an Islamic state. Some think he is just a blowhard with little or no weight, i don't happen to believe that.
Neither do I, but forewarned is forearmed.

Why 'brainwash'? Would you not accept arguments against homophobia being just that? An alternative point of view?

Think it's dangerous to say - "I do not accept homosexuality, and will not accept any other argument".
I don't think forearmed is the right word to use when describing Abu Hamza.
funny perhaps but brendan and i were refering to the odious anjem choudary, the state funded, on benefits that is Muslim, who rants about how one day he and his followers will rule Britain and the world, that women will wear the burkha and be subservient to their husbands and that homosexuals are an abomination.
I think you will find, you're just comparing 'outsourcing' to 'washrooms'.
