I think that you were correct in the first place. It's probably a Flash problem. However reinstalling (or upgrading) Flash doesn't work if your computer recognises that Flash is already present (even though it's not working).

Uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin. Restart your computer. Then download Flash Player again:

Should be under Start>Control Panel>Programs and Features>Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X , then Right-Click, and Uninstall. Then do as Chris says.

hi again (thanks for all your help) when i go to uninstall it tells me it can't do it unless i shut down internet explorer. i don't have ie open!
If you flash open, then this actually runs under IE, so close Flash, then uninstall from there.

flash not open either!
Use the flash uninstaller, then try reinstalling...

it still keeps saying i have internet open when i definately don't
Reboot your computer, pressing F8 as it goes through the initial sequence. That will take you into Safe Mode (so that programs which normally start 'in the background' won't do so). Your display will look very odd (because the video driver won't have loaded) but you'll then be able to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player Plugin.

Then reboot (to get back into normal mode) and download Flash Player again.
