waistcoat???

Ive bought a suit for my 16yr old for his prom! he has decided he would like a waistcoat too! But as the suit is light grey with black piping not sure what colour waistcoat to get (that matches) The shirt is white with black piping around the collar and black tie. thanks

Was there not a waistcoat that matched the suit? If not, then take the jacket shopping with you and ask the shop assisstants opinion of which waistcoat to get.

If the suit is quite plain, it might be nice to have a brightly patterned waistcoat
