We are having a problem with flies in the house

Have got Raid fly spray but must admit it does choke you a bit, and doesn't really get rid of them. If we have door open of course more come in, but you
can't keep it closed in this weather. Is using fly paper any good, otherwise it just means getting more of the wretched things swishing around.

I only use fly sprays as a last resort. Nasty chemicals which can penetrate your lungs, your skin, houseplants, etc.
Best idea is to keep windows and doors and curtains. closed in this hot weather, which although it seems stupid, does keep the hot air out during the day. You can then let the cooler air in at night time.

if you could hear me scream down the ether, this is a veritable plague. i opened one of these popper type fly papers, it didn't all come out of the container, one wasted, got another out, came out, only i have the residue on my hands and spent 20 minutes getting it off, but the fly papers come with a tack to stick them up, which didn't work, so had to hang it by picture hook on wall, i have now sprayed in here as well, and that's making me wheeze. Type of windows that don't open wide easily, so doors open, bloody nora they dont stop, so everything has to be battened down. Its like a Hitchcock film, without the laughs.
