I want to send an email in Portuguese, can anyone recommend a site where I could do this in English then do a translation and then copy and paste it to an email?
I use Windows Mail and it doesn't seem to have a translation tab

http://translate.google.com/
It will translate to and from lots of languages.
It gets pretty close. If you want it to work best then write quite formally and avoid using idioms such as "make ends meet" or "storm in a teacup", which will be literally translated and may make no sense at all in the foreign language!

Hi Bobbi, I used to be a translator for German / English and vice versa, so can't help you with the Portuguese, sadly. What I can tell you is that all of the translation sites I have found online are dreadfully incorrect a lot of the time. Really not worth taking the risk, unless you are writing the most basic sentences and even then they often get it wrong. So, best not to risk it and just write in English or find a friend who speaks fluent Portuguese and can translate it for you. Hugs!
