which is a fab website for anything to do with felines. It says that if your cat is emptying its whole bladder on a horizontal surface, (as opposed to spraying up a vertical one I suppose) then there is only ever one reason and that is a dissatisfaction with the litter tray. That could be because you have changed the litter your cat is used to, or perhaps moved the tray to a new room, or most likely not cleaning it often enough. I had changed my cat's litter so I went back to the old type litter, actually pulled her old tray out of the cupboard and I put that down as well so she always has a clean place to do her business. And it worked immediately. She has never peed anywhere else since. Try it and see.
