Motivation Tips, Anyone?
6 Answers
I've got approx. 13000 words of essays due in just over a week. Most of these I haven't actually started doing the reading for yet. The carrot and stick method doesn't seem to be working, any helpful advice (apart from spending less time on here)?

If you are committed to getting the work done but feeling overwhelmed by it, how about breaking it down into more manageable chunks? Its always helpful to do all the background reading but if you are struggling perhaps you could concentrate on skimming the most important texts and look at a study guide as well. You could try working out how many days you have got left (minus one for emergencies)and split the work up equally between them. If you make sure that you finish an essay at the end of a day's studying, it will be uppermost in your mind as you sleep and you may well have additions to make in the morning before moving on to the next one. Last tip, get it all printed out at least a day in advance so if you have a printer disaster all is not lost. Good luck and let us know how the work turns out, it sounds just about achievable.
