Continuing Depo Provera.

I've been having the depo injections for about 5 years now, with no breaks. I'm due to have my next dose on Thursday however I am no longer with my boyfriend and therefore do not really have a need for any sort of contraception. I wondered from people in the know about these things, would it be wise to cancel the injection and give my body a break or is it a better idea to keep going with it?

I agree with honey about the time it can take to get your body back to normal, it took me a good 18 months to get periods again after I came off it the last time.

Thanks for the answers. I never see the doctor, it's always done by the nurse at the surgery. It's just been playing on my slightly over emotional mind over the past few days but having read the answers, I think I'll probably have this injection and then I have another 12 weeks to think it over a little more.
