PMT is pre menstrual tension, PMS is pre menstrual syndrome, which I think (not being a doctor)mean the same thing.  Could your wife be going thru early menopause ? If she is getting irregular periods and hot flushes it could be the start. Tell her to use soya milk in tea and on cereal (it curdles in coffee) and to cut down on dairy (cheese etc) as much as possible. Also buy soya tables from Holland and Barrett. Soya is a natural HRT.  DONT take Red Clover drops -- they gave me terrible nose bleeds.  She could try a short course of HRT to see if it helps.  I do sympathise and being female it is worse for us, I promise!  How long ago was she tested for being non menopausal? And did the doctor say what else it could have been? Sounds like the onset to me .. Anyway good luck !!

Thanks judiewudie

karen was tested two weeks ago and the doc recommdend the coil to try and regulate the frequencyt of her monthly's

Sounds like she should try some natural remedies. Evening primrose oil has helped a lot of women with mood swings, as has some types of the pill. Explore lots of avenues. It could also be something not related to her hormones, so talk to her about what she is feeling angry/upset about too.
Just say yes to everything she says and wash up at all times...make her a cup of tea every 20 mins..dont ask for any sexual favours..follow these rules and you will be asking me out for a pint in no time

Hi, evening primrose oil (EPO) has definately helped my wife reduce the same symptoms you mention which do sound like onset of menopause whatever the doc says. they did cause her some minor stomach upsets but she kept at them and now its no problem. suggest EPO+VITIAMIN E capsules work slighty better.

Only problem may be that your wife thinks shes Ok and doesnt realise what a pain she is to you and may not see the need to take anything for it!     You see I say this because I knew an older couple once and talking about this subject one day the wife said that she wasn't too bad during her menopause and the husband said do you want to know how many times i thought about leaving you at that time!!

Some years ago Swiss doctors did a study which showed that women with severe PMS suffered from a lack of magnesium and zinc.   I took a supplement for years of this and it definitely did help.   Holland & Barret keep magnesium and zinc or any good chemist will have Magnesium OK which is what I originally took before having a hysterectomy!
