Nearest good beach to Gibraltar?

I understand that the Gibraltar beaches are not that brilliant, where would be the nearest good ones in Spain? 2 energetic teenage grandsons to keep occupied!

Playa de Bolonia is the place to go for windsurfing and kite-surfing. It's at the southernmost tip of Spain, Tarifa (where the ferries to Tangier leave from).

Otherwise you'd probably need to travel up to Playa La Barrosa, close to Cadiz. It's sometimes listed as being at Chiclana de la Frontera but that town isn't really on the coast. The coastal part is called Novo Sancti Petri, which is basically a big resort complex in its own right.

Estepona, 20 -30 mins by car from Gibraltar is the nearest.
Gibraltar is more or less on the Costa del Sol.
