I'm currently trying to rent a house for £500, the landlord said that i havent passed my income check because they arnt counting housing benefits and the rest ect (i'm a part time worker and currently looking for full) so therefore cannot afford the rent but i know i deffinatly can, but they have asked for a guarentor now and i have found one whos retired but owns her own house and has 500 monthy, annually between us on the parts they are choosing too count in we can pay for the rent, will they accept this now because we can afford between the two of us or? wanting to know my chances for this house! thankyou x

ohh i see, bare with me by the way i'm new to this house buisness! haha so generally when asking for a garentor, does the garentor have to be able to pay for the rent fully themselfs if i didnt pay? or are we talking if i cant pay the rent one week then its done between us? its frustrating as i can pay it but yeah, out of experience with this if anyone knows of it?
the guaruntor would have to pass the credit check by themselves usually
usually the guarantor would have to meet the full payment if you could not for any reason

ahh thankyou, ive read somewhere that its a benefit if the guarentor owns their own home also? by the way thankyou everyone for your help :)
