Do I have to have IE9?

I downloaded IE9 as an update..hated it so got rid...back to IE8...now everyday I keep getting a Microsoft Update telling me I have an IMPORTANT update.......IE9!!!!
Do I HAVE to have it???????

Do you work for Microsoft by any chance? they are well known for trying to force their own"standards" onto everyone else.

I have got used to the beastly IE9 but have had some problems with it - it wouldn't recognise our work web-based emails, I had to activate Compatability mode for me to be able to open that page. Perishing nuisance.

No I don't work for Microsoft. I just get tired of seeing inaccurate rubbish posted by those who habitually and mindlessly bag Microsoft at every opportunity.

Well i think hiding updates is the best option.Now i have not used IE anymore since chrome has come.I find it much faster the IE.
