Adobe flash player installation

I have repeatedly tried to download the latest version, and although I get the message that installation was successful and that I am running it, the next time I try, I am prompted again to instal it.
Can anyone help?

down load this adobe flash player uninstall prog
then uninstall your present version then install the latest one

I have tried what you suggested, but Flash Player is still not active. Have you any other ideas?
