Woke up this morning and the ball of my left foot is really painful and stiff - right inside the joint. It is aching all the time and is painful if I try to flex my foot. I wasn't doing anything unusual yesterday and it was fine when I went to bed. Still very sore :o( - right foot is perfectly fine. Any ideas on what I might have done to it and if it will go away by itself?

Thanks sqad - I googled that and I don't think so. I don't wear high shoes (i'm already 5'10" already) and the pain is constant rather than relieved by taking of the shoes and massaging - it is just as painful today unfortunately but seems really focused in the fleshy bit between the arch and the big toe and at the same point on the base of my foot. :o( - I am sure I'll live! if it's not better by Wed, I'll see if I can get an appointment with the GP.

LL - no probs :o)
annie....then, I am a "busted flush".........;-).....poker term.

lol sqad - looks like gout still on the menu then.
annie....get that Ibuprofen going ....;-)
Question Author
will do - thanks.

No work today as off into Edinburgh again with the kids so I suppose i'd better get showered and dressed and hobble my way about for another day!

Interestingly I was looking at the info on the back of the Ibuprofen packet. amongst other things, it says "don't take in the first 6 months of pregnancy" and then further down the list "don't take in the last 3 months of pregnancy"!!

Not pregnant btw - just thought it was a bit weird!!!
annie......advice from "young sqad"...... when you first open a packet of tablets, throw away the instructions.
Question Author
ha ha - don't tend to take much notice to be honest, was just checking what strength they were - you recommended 600mg and the packet says 1-2 of 200mg each. We also have one of those proper medicine directory thingies (OH trained as a nurse) but don't tend to look at that either!!
annie...the UK always quotes those "piddling " little doses, but on the Continent, the sell Ibuprofen in 400mgms and 600mgms.

You need at least 400mgms.

progress or not??? Toe is no longer painful to bend as it actually wont bend anymore - it's really tingly and stiff - maybe just as a result of me trying not to bend it - feels very weird :/
