No they don't.

they do if you deactivate your account, but that's it.

No, they don't. If yo want them to disappear you'll have to delete them before leaving the group.

Ah buts that the point, I don't want them to disappear! I have left a group because of what was said and what I replied, but I want them to see it and know why! "Have the courage of your convictions Jacqueline" is what my maths teacher taught me (no maths just strange sayings).
