I know I can be a bit of a food fascist and have unreasonably high expectations on occasion.

But.....am I the only person who takes the view when reading a menu, that if they can't spell it they can't cook it?

I am sick to death of being offered Ceasar salad, place instead of plaice, etc. I wouldn't mind if I was heading off to the local Harvester but some of these mistakes are occurring in Michelin starred restaurants.

Many in the North-East would be confused by that as there used to be a chain of department stores here called Shepard's of Gateshead.
who could afford michelin star restaurants anyway, as to the wording, well if it's Gordon Ramsey, or Marco Pierre White, seeing what charmers they are, perhaps they don't need to tell the staff or whoever proof reads and prints the menus how to spell, just to do the effin job, or words to that effect.
