I was trying to say that was what I used to do when I was suffering from panic attacks, not telling you it was what you should do. It honestly gets better. Mine were 18 years ago now, never had them back.
I'd been having mine for about six months. My mum then gave me a book by a guy called Colin Wilson about the occult. In his foreword he said that he'd been having panic attacks, which is honestly the first time I'd ever heard of them despite having them myself. I'd not been the doctor or anything, thinking it was 'just me'. Weirdly, he said his lasted 18 months. I remember my last ever one. I had the light on, and after that amount of time thought to myself 'welcome it' and somehow my brain clicked. Yours will too, honestly.
you have to learn to relax earlier so have some relaxing time before you go to bed, then maybe some deep gently breathing, I tend to read a book to help me nod off if I am feeling a little wired, the main problem is your brain is still going a mile a minute so it can make you start thinking bad things which can set off a vicious cycle
Can't say I have, although there have been times in the past when I've wondered if I'd make it through the night. Usually turned out to be regarding symptoms that weren't as bad as they seemed.
I'd not worry about talking to yourself. I've thought out loud for no one else's benefit all my life. My parents gave up trying to stop me after a while. Sometimes it just seems right.

I've had them for years and I get them in the most inconvenient of places, so I end up getting anxious about getting a panic attack! I don't really know what to do about it either! Doctors just tell me to breath and relax!
So I gave up asking advice and now just live with it! Wish I knew the answer though - I'd love to get rid of them!

It comes on. Your hands and feet feel numb. You may even see the blue veins in your hands as they tingle - stop panicking. Your heart is fine, despite how often you check it, it will still be ticking as normal. Lie down with the light on. Remember, you felt like this yesterday as well, but got through it, and you'll feel like this tomorrow and get through it too, and then again and each time again.
