Lottie, what statin is your husband taking now, please? If he has no pain, it sounds a good idea for me to try it, if my GP feels this is the route to go back to.
I take ezetrol (ezetimibe) 10mg (when I remember) and I don't have any aches and pains the way I did when taking Simvastatin or Prevastatin. Having said that my cholesterol is high at 6.0. I have to go back to the GP for a medication review next week so there may be a change. He did suggest that I take two tablets 20mg. the last time but, having suffered the dreadful muscle and joint pains previously I said I'd rather try diet. MrAsk has quite a low level and he has the heart probs, not me.
Sqad, why is Spanish cholesterol rated differently? I cannot understand anyone else's. Mind is 200+ just over the mark so take statins. DO you understand it?
A couple of years back i watched a BBC programme about Statins, most of the programme was about Simvastatin. Many men appeared on the show the youngest only 49 the eldest in thier 70s. All had been taking Simvastatin for many years and all were impotent. The programme suggested that Simvastatin was to blame.
I suppose the effects are not as good, if you don't take it every day - I used to take mine in the morning, when I take my supplements at breakfast time.
