On the leaflet in the box, it says not to drink grapefruit juice.

Would this include bunches of grapes ?

Why are grapefruit no go, but oranges ok
If I knew the answer to that I'd be living the life of luxury on the Isle of Menorca!
Lottie, what statin is your husband taking now, please? If he has no pain, it sounds a good idea for me to try it, if my GP feels this is the route to go back to.
I take ezetrol (ezetimibe) 10mg (when I remember) and I don't have any aches and pains the way I did when taking Simvastatin or Prevastatin. Having said that my cholesterol is high at 6.0. I have to go back to the GP for a medication review next week so there may be a change. He did suggest that I take two tablets 20mg. the last time but, having suffered the dreadful muscle and joint pains previously I said I'd rather try diet. MrAsk has quite a low level and he has the heart probs, not me.
Sqad, why is Spanish cholesterol rated differently? I cannot understand anyone else's. Mind is 200+ just over the mark so take statins. DO you understand it?
I didn't know that, neti - our scale here is that (roughly) anything over 5 is bad news.
I know, that's why I get confused and a 6 looks well low to me!
A couple of years back i watched a BBC programme about Statins, most of the programme was about Simvastatin. Many men appeared on the show the youngest only 49 the eldest in thier 70s. All had been taking Simvastatin for many years and all were impotent. The programme suggested that Simvastatin was to blame.
Just found one of my analysis, and it says cholesterol 208 mg/dL the norm being 100-200. Still it's easy to see the differece.
neti... in the UK they use milimoles/ ml......i the rest of Europe it is measured in mgms?ml

Yes, i do understand and yours is NORMAL
neti....just to modify.....how much over 200?
well it was 233 :0( but now am on simvastatn and tests due in oct.
Does it matter if one forgets to take it as I take mine at night and sometimes I forget.
I suppose the effects are not as good, if you don't take it every day - I used to take mine in the morning, when I take my supplements at breakfast time.
