PAWS4US "If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend, If you can face the world without lies and deceit, If you can say honestly that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion or politics, Then, my friend, you are almost as good as your dog."..
~Don't blame the dog re the postman...I don't like them a lot of the time when they deliver my mail to someone else, drop it on the path or put others' mail in my letter box. May I borrow your dog please dido? <smile>
I hope that I never smell as bad as a wet dog. :-)
My dog hated the postie - even when we saw the postie out of uniform. They clashed over a bundle of mail one day - the letters ended up with the dogs teeth right through them, the postie had scuffed knuckles and I got one hell of a fright.
I love wolves too - was lucky enough to have one adopted for me as a present - I visited it although was unable to get too near as it wasn't habituated to that extent. But I did get to 'play' with an adult timber wolf who had been hand reared - he was enormous and really, really beautiful - he put his paws on my shoulders and towered above me - fabulous!!!
BTW wolf63 there is a cat living across the road from my Belfast apartment that is the spitting image of your avatar. She jumps up on the ledge and paws at the door handle to let herself in.
Very timid, not managed to pet her yet. But I will. I can gain the confidence of any cat eventually.
spikey - my two are Scottish born - feral mother gave birth in a barn/shed. As you can see Frankie is short haired - his sister Merlin is long haired and is mainly black. She has huge paws and is incredibly stupid. I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of her - I have been badly bitten a couple of times and have had to go to the doctor.
rsvp - I think that humans could learn much from wolf society. I was supposed to be going to Kingussie wildlife park tomorrow with my brother (visiting from abroad - England) but I get terribly car sick. I was a bit miffed last time that the wolves were quite far off - the kid in me wanted to pet them and just sit up close and watch them.
I could talk about cats and dogs all day (ask my brother about that!) but I am off to look up a few things to buy on EBay and then off to bed.
If there was a God (I am an atheist or agnostic depending on my mood) I bet he would be disappointed in humans. We have made a mess of the planet and we kill each other to gain territory and possessions. And our nearest/closest relative (the chimp) is just as vicious. What a depressing thought.
Susan ;-) Frankie de Tom Cat and Princess Merlin the stupid xx
