Ok then, i have got a media converter for downloading video's off the net. I want to burn some videos to send to my fiance in the US. They are region 1 in the states, i believe the UK is region 2. What is the best way to do it?
I can burn on to blank CD's or blank DVD's, i can use lots of different formats. I want her to be able to play them on a DVD player in the states, not a PC.

When you burn your own dvds they are region free.

It is only commercially bought dvds that are region coded.

AAh that is useful.
Can i burn dvd's from wmp? coz that is all i use, or shall i just use a blank cd and if either, what format do i use?
ta.
As far as I know, you can't burn dvds using WMP.

Your computer should have come with burning software if there is a writeable dvd drive.
Don't forget that you will need to use NTSC rather than PAL encoding for the US

Say i want to put my videos from youtube onto a cd what format will i use and would it play on a standard dvd player in the uk?
Youtube vids are .flv

Most dvd players can't play those, so you would have to convert them before you burned them

Ethel is right of course, if the DVDs are created as region free, then they will play on any player - the player itself does not need to be region free.
