Blimey!! Just watching this for the first time. She had a tough old life didn't she?

Obviously, William and Harry are descended from her, as she was a Spencer, but the intriguing thing is that Sarah Ferguson, and hence Beatrice and Eugenie, are descended from the illegitimate daughter, Eliza, although I can't find the blood line details.
I loved the book when I first read it but was really disappointed by the film, it finished very abruptly.
The Wallis Simpson programme was very intriguing, although I get very suspicious of such explosive evidence suddenly appearing, especially after all the protagonists are dead!

I agree cc1 it's strange that this evidence has suddenly come to light, a bit like the Hitler diaries, and they turned out to be fakes. It must have been boring in those bygone days of the Duchess, no radio or laptops to keep them amused. Without the attentions of her husband it's no wonder she enjoyed gambling.

That's ok Dee Sa. Thinking about the Wallis-Simpson letters. Did they say they were found in a house over here? If so, how were letters that She wrote and were stamped and postmarked found here? Surely they should have been found in the USA or did Mr Simpson settle over here after the divorce?
