Have recently learnt that I will become one in the next 6 months. Should I practise being dignified and intimidating or just stick to what I know?

Can you cook. I had two great aunts when I was a child they were sisters never married and lived together. Boy could they cook. We loved going for Sunday lunch. Great food and lovely cakes and scones. They always loved to play cards and at very early age we were roped in to make up a hand at bridge or euchre. Look back fondly on the time I spent with them and at 57 Im not even an aunt or a granny but if I an fortunate enough to become either I would like to be like my old great aunts.

When I first became a great-aunt, I felt like Miss Haversham - but now I treat them (and they treat me) as if I were just their aunty.
I'm a Great Auntie (third one born two days ago - bless!) and I insisted I am just to be known as Auntie Ann - then nobody guesses which generation I belong to!!
