Mercedes Benz small car

Not sure if there are any Mercedes fans in the house, but, when I was a teenager I remember there were two women living in the house opposite that had a small compact Mercedes, it may have been a convertible or hard top and I recall the boot had either a luggage type rack on it or maybe even a spare wheel.

Although this was the early 90s I think the car was of 80s design, it was certainly not a large mercedes car.

I'd love to know which mercedes it was, maybe even if there are any left on the roads.

It was probably an SL series W113. Gorgeous car, neat, tidy, understated, yet still managed to look classy & stylish.
