Just got back from the east coast and had the best Fish and Chip lunch in Whitby with some old friends.

Whitby is great, I love it over there. However I think the best chippy on the planet (Ive not visited them all) is a plaice near, Leeds Harry Randems I think it was called.

Harry Ramsdens is countrywide. Used to be excellent, now just overpriced.

The chippies in Whitby are great but in my opinion the best is not Magpies. I can't remember its name but you go over the swing bridge to the Abbey side and bear right to where the fishing boats set off and it's near the tackle shop

Ive had fish and chips in the Magpie in Whitby. Rick Stein said it was the best fish and chips in the world.
