Car Insurance for our 17 yr old son.
Can anyone come up with some insurance companies that we can go to for an insurance quote for our 17 yr old learner driver son please?
We've recently bought our 17 yr old son a Renault Clio and want to get insurance for him-fully comp or 3rd party cover depending on quotes.
The car is being driven daily by my husband (who is the named owner) but we'd like our son to get some practice in it and then when he passes his test the car will be signed over to him.
We've had quotes ranging from £3500 with Admiral to over £10,000 with Direct Line!
Thanks in advance...footymum

I am 17 and im considering doing it. Put your son down on the quote as the main driver to do 2000 miles and add experienced drivers to do a few more thousand miles. Only problem is all drivers need to be present for the fitting of the smartbox :)
the only way under £2000 is co-op's smart box method which measures how safely your son is driving. Put him down to do 2000 miles and add experienced drivers to do more miles than your son, cheapest i managed to get was about £1100. There are a few drawbacks in that driving after 11 may increase your premium and there others but its a cheap option
