Today I found myself referring to a 'pop video'. Yet the video format is now positively historic. What is the current correct phrase for a film that promotes a song...if even that is a correct description? Is it a 'pop DVD' now?

No, it's still a music video.
As an add on, DVD stands for Digital Versatile Disk so a DVD is a physical object.
Video is a generic term for moving images made up of a succession of still images, it doesn't only refer to tapes, DVDs have video on them, you watch video on your TV, if you go to the cinema the film you are watching is video.
Not that I'm out of touch with the times, or anything, but it would be a 'euterpian magic lantern show' in my house...........
Yes, the above posters are right. It is still called a 'pop video' even in these days of DVDs.
I still say that i'm taping something even though i'm just recording it on the V+.. Just the same sort of thing lol
Is your lantern thingy digital? I only ask as we are losing our analogue signal in our area next year. I don't want it to become out of date.
